Besides Clean Out Programs that Launch at Startup by running msconfig from the Start Menu's search box, and going to the Startup tab you can also Change Your Boot Menu's Timeout Values in windows 7. To change this timeout value, head to msconfig and click on the BOOT tab. Change the number in the Timeout box to something lower, as shown below for example from 30 seconds to 3 second and click Apply.
Click on the Advanced options and change the Number of processors to the bigger number and thick for the Maximum memory as shown below and click OK.
